Salman Khan, who is gearing up for the release of Prem Ratan Dhan Payo on Thursday (November 12), wishes he did not have to promote Sooraj Barjatya’s Prem Ratan Dhan Payo. Now, before you get your tabloid radars on, let us tell you the reason: He would have preferred spending the time on fitness training for Sultan and not because he has any issues against the film.
“Training is going good. It is just that I have not given much time to it because of promotion of Prem Ratan Dhan Payo . I wish I wouldn’t have to promote films so that I would have concentrated on the training more. But this is also important,” Salman said.
Salman, who promised his fans a “double size” avatar in Sultan, is gaining muscle for the upcoming film instead of piling on weight. He says it’s “difficult” and requires “a lot of hard work”. “I’m not gaining weight but gaining muscles for Sultan, and that is difficult. It is not fat... You have to follow a strict schedule, but then it makes you stronger and fitter. It takes a lot of hard work,” Salman said.
The Dabangg star, who will turn 50 in December, will be seen as a wrestler in the film. Aamir Khan has been in news for his weight fluctuations for Dangal and that has raised concerns in the family over his health. But Salman said that it’s not the case for Sultan, which will hit the screens on Eid 2016.
The actor also asserted that as he is not gaining weight or adding fat, there are no health complications involved. After entertaining his fans with a heart-warming story in Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Salman will be making a comeback on the silver screen with his iconic Prem character in Prem Ratan Dhan Payo. The family drama, which reunites Salman with Sooraj Barjatya after 16 years, also stars Sonam Kapoor and Anupam Kher and will hit the screens on November 12.
One of the fittest actors of Bollywood, has started intensive training for wrestling and mixed martial arts for “Sultan” with international action director Larnell Stovall. Produced by Aditya Chopra under his Yash Raj Films banner, the movie is reportedly based on the life of a wrestler and the shooting of the film is scheduled to commence in November.
