Superstar Rajinikanth’s Twitter account was hacked late on Tuesday, says a report in India Today. His official Twitter handle @superstarrajini tweeted “Rajinikanth #HitToKill”, much to the dismay of his fans.
It was later discovered that his account had been hacked by an unidentified techie.
A few hours after the incident, the actor’s daughter Aishwarya R Dhanush confirmed the news on Twitter. She also assured his fans that his real account would be retrieved soon.
Rajinikanth joined Twitter only in 2013 but has a huge following: More than 3 million. But the actor isn’t known to be active on social media.
The Times of India reported that after the attack, the hacker followed Kamal Haasan, Aamir Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Kabali’s director Pa Ranjith, Kabali’s producer Kalai Puli S Thanu and publicist Riaz Ahmed. The account has since un-followed these people after being restored.
Rajinikanth made an impressive comeback with Kabali, which has turned out to be India’s biggest opener grossing Rs 48 crores (domestic market) according to IANS, unlike his last two outings, Lingaa and Kochadaiiyaan.
