4th victim of hostel owner’s sexual exploitation lodges case

Two other women have already registered case of molestation against Sharma at the same police station, while a case of rape has been registered by Dhar police on Zero and transferred to Bhopal against Sharma. A special investigation team has been set up to look into the Bhopal rape case.

Heera Nagar police station incharge inspector Rajiv Singh Bhadoria said that they received a complaint from a 23-year old woman on Saturday evening that Sharma had raped her in the last week of February 2018, and had threatened her to keep silent about the incident.

Sources said that Ashwini had also made her video in a state of undress and had inadvertently forwarded it to another student, and later put pressure on him to delete it. However, he had kept a copy and that might also be used as evidence against Sharma.

The girl, also a student of ITI, Bhopal had returned home after the incident, but had kept silent due to fear and shame. However, when the other students came forward she too mustered courage and got the case registered.

Inspector Bhadoria said cases under Section 376 (Rape), 377 (unnatural sex) and 354 (molestation) of Indian Penal Code have been registered against Sharma, who is in custody of Bhopal police till Monday.
