The New Year is going to bring some major projects in various sectors for Madhya Pradesh.
According to information from various sources, Madhya Pradesh is expected to make a mark on the world map with the development of the world’s largest solar power station with a capacity of 750 MW. The power station will be developed on 1,500 hectares land in the Gurh Tehsil of Rewa district.
The plant will be developed jointly by the Solar Energy Power Corporation of India and Madhya Pradesh Urja Vikam Nigam. However, power generation is expected to start in March 2017.
Another project expected to enhance MP’s infrastructure was announced recently by Union road transport and highways minister Nitin Gadkari during his visit to Jabalpur.
The minister announced a package of Rs 80,000 crore for infrastructure development in the state under which the length of national highways in MP will be extended up to 8,976 km from the present 5,194 km.
Work on the project will commence in December.
IN THE PIPELINE
The state’s first bio-methanation plant will be set-up in Bhopal in 2016. For solid waste management, 10 plants will be set-up in the capital city which will produce 2,000 gas cylinders per day from household waste. The cylinders can be used as CNG.
Dial 100 will be launched in every district of the state. The service, which was launched in major cities in November, will soon be available in all districts. Under this project, first response vehicles will be deployed in the district to provide security to people in distress.
For the first time, engineering will be taught in Hindi. Atal Bihari Vajpayee Hindi Vishwavidhayala, Bhopal, will introduce engineering in Hindi medium from 2016-17 academic session. The translation of books has already been started.
Major city projects
In 2016, residents of Bhopal will get relief from traffic in bottleneck areas. The Habibganj railway over-bridge and Kamla Nagar cable stay bridge will be completed in 2016, as expected. Another railway over bridge which will help in streamlining traffic is the Singarcholi railway over-bridge.
The restoration work of Minto hall will be started in the 2016. By restoring the hall, it will be converted into an international convention centre. The restoration work of Sadar Manzil will also start in 2016
For wildlife lovers, a lion safari will be developed at Van Vihar in 2016
Residents will get free Wi-fi at the Boat Club
The BMC will reintroduce Raahgiri Day as Raahgiri Reloaded.
A seven floor super-specialty building will be available for residents at Hamidia Hospital. In the building, 1,500 beds will be available in the general ward.
