Aamir Khan’s sister Nikhat Khan will make her Bollywood debut with Saand Ki Aankh that sees Taapsee Pannu and Bhumi Pednekar playing double their age on screen for the first time. Nikhat will reportedly play a queen in the film produced by Anurag Kashyap.
According to a report in Pinkvilla, a source related to the film has revealed, “She plays a maharani in the film. It’s not a cameo or an appearance. Instead, it’s a full fledged role. Her character has some really important sequences.”
The source added, “Along with the character of the shooter dadis, there are several roles that are integral to the film’s plotline. One will be essayed by Aamir Khan’s sister Nikhat Khan. This will be her debut in films and although not many knew of her, when one of the makers met her and suggested her name, the entire team knew she was best suited for the role.”

Bhumi and Taapsee play Chandro and Prakashi Tomar, respectively in the film which also stars filmmaker Prakash Jha and Vineet Kumar Singh of Mukkabaaz fame. It is based on the life of real-life shooters Chandro, 87, and her sister-in-law Prakashi, 82, from Uttar Pradesh, who are better known as ‘shooter dadis’.
The first look of the film was released last month and showed them as wrinkled, 60-year-olds, dressed in ghagras. Bhumi had shared the first poster of the film with the caption, “They are brave, They are fun, They are full of love. They are the Shooter Dadis of India” Taapsee captioned it, “They may be old, but their aim is sure-shot gold!”
The first look of the film showed them aiming their pistols at a target while standing on a heap of sand. It went with the description, ‘They broke out of their cage... At 60 they rose above their age...With 700 medals they became a rage...”
Taapsee and Bhumi had shared several pictures during their shoot hinting at their life as the two shooters. They can be seen driving a tractor, a cycle and making cow-dung cakes in the pics. Directed by Tushar Hiranandani, the film is set to release this Diwali on October 25.
