Angrezi Medium: Makers reveal Kareena Kapoor to play a cop in Irrfan Khan starrer

Actor Kareena Kapoor has been roped in to play the second female lead in Irrfan Khan starrer, Angrezi Medium.

Actor Kareena Kapoor is all set to star in Irrfan Khan starrer Angrezi Medium. The film is the sequel to 2016 award-winning film that also stars Radhika Menon as Irrfan’s daughter in the film.

Revealing more about Kareena’s character in the film, producer Dinesh Vijan said, “Kareena is a great addition to our franchise! Angrezi medium is a very special film, and I’m excited that she’s going to be a part of it. We wanted to introduce this character who would be taken forward in the franchisees to come,and she’s perfect for it.”

He added, “Here she plays a cop, a role she’s actually never done before! We will be shooting in London this June, and it will be great to be back on set with her.”

Kareena confirmed in a recent interview with Rajeev Masand that hers is not a romantic pairing with Irrfan in the film. “It’s a small but interesting part as I just wanted to go out of the comfort zone and do a movie which throws me into a different milieu and I would see how it goes. Whether its Homi (Adajania) or Irrfan and Deepak (Dobriyal), its all a different world for me to be a part of,” she had said.

Homi Adajania of Cocktail fame is directing the film which is being shot in Udaipur. Irrfan had even shared a funny meme of himself and Homi while having fun on the sets of the film. The actor is seen relishing a sugarcane in the picture which also shows Homi who is put off by his new obsession.

Irrfan plays a sweet shop owner in the film while Radhika will be seen as his daughter who goes to London for higher studies. Irrfan returned from London about a month ago after undergoing treatment for neuroendocrine tumour.
