I call myself bike-sexual: Freddy Daruwala
Actor Freddy Daruwala says bike riding gives him a sense of freedom and it’s nothing short of meditation.
Actor Freddy Daruwala became an instant hit among fans after playing the lead antagonist, as the head of sleeper cells, in Akshay Kumar-starrer Holiday (2014). While his female fans drool over his good looks, the actor says he can’t think anything beyond his bikes. “I am perpetually married to motorcycles. I call myself “bike-sexual”. I am constantly with my bikes, doing something or the other with them, going for a ride or working on them,” he says.

Freddy who currently owns four bikes, says if all goes well, he is planning to add one more to his collection. So are all these bikes customized? “Not really. One is a sports bike, second is a retro racer, other is a 1947 vintage triumph World War II model and I have one Enfield too. I pretty much love all sort of motorcycles.”

Sharing his undying passion for bikes, the 32-year-old adds, “Bike riding gives me a sense of freedom. It’s a type of mediation. When I am riding, my thoughts are not shadowed by other things. I just enjoy the wind.”
Recollecting the journey of his most memorable and longest bike ride, he shares, “I’ve been from Mumbai to Gujarat, which took six hours on a sports bike. I was actually supposed to go to Baroda, and there’s a beautiful highway from Baroda to Ahmedabad, so I just took my motorcycle, drove on that highway and came back.”
