It feels wonderful that Jolly LLB has won two National Awards: Arshad Warsi
Actor Arshad Warsi, who has often won critical acclaim for his roles, is overwhelmed by the National Award that his film, Jolly LLB (2013), has just received for Best Hindi Film.
“I’m very happy for Subhash (Kapoor; director) and Saurabh Shukla (co-star; winner of Best Supporting Actor). When you listen to a script, it should give you the feeling that it’s a nice story and there’s a need for such a film to be made. It happened to me with this film, and it feels wonderful that it has won two National Awards,” says the actor.
According to Arshad, his association with Kapoor is a beneficial one. “The good thing is that I’ve got one director who wants to work with me again and again. I’m happy that after so long, I’ve got such a great team to work with. Things have become a bit easier now, and good stories are coming my way,” says the actor, who will star in Kapoor’s next directorial as well.
He was also set to start his own production company, but Arshad has put that plan on hold indefinitely. “I’m concentrating on acting. If there’s a good script, but no producers are ready to make the film, then I’ll produce it. I just want good films to be made. There was also a film that I wanted to produce called — Chambal Safari. I found it interesting, but I’m not making it right now,” he says.
