For actor Nora Fatehi, her recent release My Birthday Song has been the perfect launch pad as a leading actor in Bollywood. However, her debut has brought along rumours of a rivalry with actor Katrina Kaif’s sister, Isabelle Kaif.

According According to reports, Nora and Isabelle have been competing for the same roles and dance numbers, ostensibly owing to their similar backgrounds. But Nora, who made her debut with Roar: Tigers of the Sundarbans (2014), denies there being any such thing.

“Yes, I have heard about reports of competition but I don’t know what to say. I don’t feel any such vibes because I’m working on doing my thing. I’ve thankfully created a name here, people know who I am and people have accepted and loved my talent and my skills. I don’t feel I’m competing with anyone because I don’t feel we are alike in any way,” says Nora, who has done multiple films in the southern film industry.

The actor, who first struck a chord with the Hindi-speaking audience after her appearance in the reality show Bigg Boss 9, has also done TV shows such as Comedy Nights Bachao, Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 9. However, she calls herself more of a film person than a television artist.

“I never felt typecast because when I was in television, I was also, simultaneously, in films. I was seen across platforms, so that’s why I have not been put in a category,” she explains.

Are there any takeaways from her struggle in the film industry? Nora shares, “I think the most difficult part is being patient for good work to come. Sometimes, you feel like giving up if things don’t materialise in a short period of time.”
