A producer on Salman Khan’s Bharat is miffed by Priyanka Chopra’s ‘unprofessionalism’ for leaving the project after reportedly getting engaged with Nick Jonas.Updated: Jul 28, 2018 11:23 IST
While Priyanka Chopra may have director Ali Abbas Zafar’s blessings, not everyone on Bharat’s team wants to celebrate her engagement with singer Nick Jonas. Miffed by her sudden decision, one of the producers on the project has called Priyanka unprofessional for leaving the film.
Priyanka and Nick reportedly got engaged a week ago on her birthday. Zafar sent out a tweet on Friday that Priyanka will no longer be a part of his new film due to a ‘very very special’ reason. “Yes Priyanka Chopra is no more part of @Bharat_TheFilm & and the reason is very very special , she told us in the Nick of time about her decision and we are very happy for her ... Team Bharat wishes @priyankachopra loads of love & happiness for life,” he had written.

Now, Nikhil Namit, CEO, Reel Life Productions, has told Mid-Day that he is unhappy with Priyanka’s decision to quit the film on such short notice. “Priyanka told us she had to exit due to her engagement, two days ago. It was a little unprofessional of her to do it so suddenly,” he told the daily.
The report also suggests that the film’s lead star, Salman Khan is now in hyperdrive to find Priyanka’s replacement for the film and that Katrina Kaif and Jacqueline Fernandez seem to be the most likely choices. Katrina has previously worked with Salman in Tiger Zinda Hai, Ek Tha Tiger, Maine Pyaar Kyun Kia, while Jacqueline has worked with him in Kick and Race 3.
Meanwhile, Priyanka has started work on Shonali Bose’s The Sky Is Pink. Priyanka will play a mother in the movie which also star Farhan Akhtar and Zaira Wasim. Roy Kapur Films shared a short video on their Instagram page of the crew getting together and ideating about the film. Priyanka joined the film earlier this month.
Priyanka and Nick met at the 2017 Met Gala where they represented Ralph Lauren together. Their relationship rumours began in late May, when they were spotted together on several occasions. They arrived in India in June for a short holiday and were spotted together on her birthday.
