Ranbir began his career opposite Sonam Kapoor with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Saawariya (2007). Though the film did not set the box office on fire, much was said about his towel dance in the movie. After a few duds including Bachna Ae Haseeno (2008) and Luck by Chance (2009), Ayan Mukherjee’s Wake Up Sid (2009) brought the real Ranbir to the fore: Soon, the actor was impressing critics and fans alike with his performance in Rocket Singh Salesman Of The Year (2009) and Raajneeti (2010).

With the two films, Ranbir displayed how he could play a fun-loving college boy and easily switch to a brooding rockstar or the brilliance and finesse with which he played a deaf-mute person.
