Shah Rukh Khan, Ranbir Kapoor dressed in drag and danced with Madhuri Dixit. Thanks Gurinder Chadha for reviving this
In a funny video, shared by British-Indian director Gurinder Chadha, Shah Rukh Khan and Ranbir Kapoor are dressed as drag queens and trying to match steps with Madhuri Dixit.
A drag queen act, even when done for onstage performances, can get a bit embarrassing. British-Indian director Gurinder Chadha on Friday shared a rather funny video clip of Shah Rukh Khan, Ranbir Kapoor and Madhuri Dixit. What was so funny really? Well, the fact that both the men were garishly dressed in women’s attire with even more terrible wigs and were matching steps with Bollywood’s dancing diva, Madhuri.
The clip is from the Filmfare awards function in 2012. Sharing it, Gurinder wrote: “I love Shah Rukh Khan in this! And Ranbir Kapoor both are great sports but Maduri Dixit is still pure class.”
In it, we seen Shah Rukh and Ranbir imitate Madhuri as she goes about doing some of her signature steps. Madhuri is, of course, an ace dancer with tremendous grace, much of her Bollywood glory coming from her skills as a dancer.
In the last couple of years, ever since her return from the US, she often performs to songs from her older films. It is Shah Rukh and Ranbir who many will find a pain to behold. Dressed in loud-coloured ‘ang vastram’ with cheap jewellery and fake hair, they are an eyesore. However, there is no denying and they do raise a few laughs as is evident from the smiles on the faces of their contemporaries in the audience.

Meanwhile, on the work front, all the three stars are busy. Shah Rukh has just one film, Zero, up for release while Madhuri has finished shooting for Total Dhamaal and is currently busy with Karan Johar’s multi starrer Kalank. Ranbir, who is riding high on the success of Raju Hirani’s Sanju, is busy shooting for Ayan Mukherji’s Bramhastra, in which he stars with his girlfriend Alia Bhatt.

Gurinder Chadha, famous for her works like Bend It Like Beckham (2002) and Bride and Prejudice (2004), was last seen in action as the director of partition drama, Viceroy’s House (2017). She is currently busy filming her next, Blinded By The Light, said to a hybrid musical made in the tradition of British quirky comedies.
