Shahid Kapoor had ‘no issues’ working with Kareena in Udta Punjab
Shahid Kapoor says that it is the film that matters, not the scenes that co-actors share together.
Ever since they signed their new film Udta Punjab sometime last year, talks have been rife about Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor Khan ‘coming together’ for a movie once again. The duo has been seen in multiple films till date, including the much-loved Jab We Met (2007). But now, as the Abhishek Chaubey-directed film readies to hit theatres, it’s clear that Shahid and Kareena have no scenes together.

“In this film, our (the actors’) journeys have been very independent of one another; there are few scenes that we have with each other. Kareena and I don’t even have one shot in the film, while Alia (Bhatt) and I have three scenes. Diljit (Dosanjh) is fantastic, and Kareena adds a lot of credibility. Alia is fast becoming the best actress of her generation,” says Shahid.
But does the constant speculation about him and Kareena working together become annoying? “I don’t pay attention to that. My experience tells me that if the film is good, everything will be lauded. Kareena is adding a lot of value to the film, and she is great for the part. How does it matter if we have a scene together or not? People should like the movie. If Kareena and I have 50 shots together, but the film is bad, then what’s the use?” he says.

Shahid also maintains that he wouldn’t have had an issue even if they had scenes together. “I have never said that I have any issues [acting with her],” says the actor.
