The baby bump isn’t a bump in a Bollywood career path now

The baby bump is not stopping actors and models from being fashion forward, with celebs embracing their pregnancy in style.

Actor Kareena Kapoor Khan has decided to not hide her baby bump in an upcoming film in which she will be seen doing an item number. In fact there are reports that she will be playing the role of a pregnant woman in Rhea Kapoor’s Veere Di Wedding. Bebo, who will be in the third trimester of her pregnancy, will be showing off her real baby bump for the reel. Like Khan, many more women in Bollywood are embracing their baby bump and are not afraid to step out in their fashionable best.

Actors like Shveta Salve, Genelia D’Souza and Geeta Basra have all proudly flaunted their baby bumps. Salve, a regular on the small screen, had posted some holiday pictures, looking stunning in a bikini, five months ago. The pictures saw many congratulating the actor. She became a mother to a girl, recently. Talking about this change in trend, Jaspreet Kaur, image consultant, says, “The industry has evolved where women are seen as equal contributors to a project. No matter the size and weight that pregnancy brings with it, these women are confident about themselves.”

Even model Carol Gracias, who gave birth to a baby boy last month, walked the ramp in Mumbai when she was six months pregnant. She got accolades for embracing her pregnancy and breaking the convention, for not many baby bumps are seen on the ramp, especially in India.
