Why Anushka Sharma loves mystery around herself

Bollywood actor Anushka Sharma says, "When people know who you are, it becomes hard for them to forget that, and look at you as just a character in a film. I stand for not revealing too much even to my friends."

An actor’s life is an open book — most artistes live by this adage, as the constant public and media attention makes it difficult for them to lead private lives. However, Anushka Sharma feels that actors should try and avoid revealing every aspect of their lives.

"When people know who you are, it becomes hard for them to forget that, and look at you as just a character in a film. I stand for not revealing too much even to my friends. I’m not someone who looks for emotional support in people. So, for me, it’s very important to stay in my space," says Anushka.

Does that mean she’s a detached person? Anushka says, "Kind of, but not entirely. You know everything about what we’ve (actors) done and are doing. There has to be some mystery. Movie watching should transport you to another time and space. And I feel that’s going away because of the extra information that is available to everybody [about the actors’ personal lives]. I find it easier to tweet and post pictures on Instagram when my film is coming out because I want people to know about it. Otherwise, I don’t like sharing [information about myself]."
