Interestingly, a woman, Catherine Hardwicke, called the shots on the English film that is a fictionalised take on a group of young skateboarders raised on the mean streets of Dogtown in Santa Monica, California. The Z-Boys perfect their skateboarding skills in empty swimming pools of unsuspecting suburban
homeowners, pioneering a thrilling new sport that eventually turns them into American legends.
Zoya’s film, we are told, is about friends --- Hrithik Roshan, Abhay Deol and Farhan Akhtar — who go on a road trip through Spain. Let’s hope the coincidences between the two films end here. We tried contacting Ritesh Sidhwani, but he didn’t revert to our text messages.
