Sensex recovers by 29 points in early trade
The Bombay Stock Exchange benchmark index recovered by over 29 points in early trade on Friday on the back of selective buying by funds in heavy-weight stocks.
The BSE-30 share index, Sensex, which had lost 18.35 points on Thursday, was up by 29.95 points at 14,891.84 in the first five minutes of trading, following a significant recovery in blue chips stocks such as Reliance Industries, Reliance Communications, Bajaj Auto and Grasim industries.
Similarly, the wide-based National Stock Exchange's index Nifty rose by 8.65 points at 4,362.60.
Stock brokers said apart from funds buying short-covering in select stocks helped trading sentiments to improve.
