The benchmark Sensex opened higher by over 59 points on the Bombay Stock Exchange on Monday on emergence of buying by funds and general investors.
HT ImageThe 30-share index, Sensex, which had lost over 22 points on Friday recovered by 59.80 points at 13,345.73 in the first five minutes of trading.
Similarly, wide-based National Stocks Exchange Nifty was higher by 24.40 points at 3885.45.
The market received main support from shares of cement and banking companies.
Meanwhile the NSE witnessed a block deals in Yes Bank, exchanging 48.8 lakh shares worth Rs 151.25.
