Shine.com ties up with telecom sector body

Shine.com, an employment portal that is part of HT Media Ltd (HTML), has tied up with the Telecom Sector Skills Council (TSCC), a body under the National Skill Development Corporation, to provide a platform for training, assessing and hiring of telecom professionals.

Shine.com will provide the platform for online courses, assessment and job evaluation. Candidates can also review institutes where they receive a government certification on a wide variety of courses with durations of one to six months.

Once students get certified, Shine.com will help them connect with relevant recruiters. “This is a great initiative by TSCC and our tie-up with them facilitates the eco-system in bridging the skill gap for the telecom sector,” said Amit Garg, head, digital business, HTML.

The target is to provide professional skills to about 5 million Indians by setting up 500 training centres across the country in partnership with 200 industry members. “The partnership with Shine has provided the missing piece… with Shine we can now close the loop of placements,” said SP Kochhar, CEO, TSCC.
