Badal gives nod for revision in agri courses' scholarship

In a bid to encourage students to pursue professional courses in agriculture and allied farming sectors, Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today approved enhancing the amount of monthly scholarships given to these students from existing Rs 600 to Rs 750.

In a bid to encourage students to pursue professional courses in agriculture and allied farming sectors, Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today approved enhancing the amount of monthly scholarships given to these students from existing Rs 600 to Rs 750.

The students who are studying in Punjab Agriculture University (PAU) and Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (GADVASU) can avail the enhanced scholarship.

A file in this regard was cleared by the Chief Minister, an official said here.

This scholarship is given by the Punjab Agriculture and Marketing Board to encourage the students from the rural areas studying in both these institutes, with an objective to to be gainfully employed in the agriculture and allied farming sector, he said.
