The petition filed by presi-dent of Punjab Pradesh Youth Cong ress Vikramjit Singh Chaudhary came up for hearing before the court headed by justice Ritu Bahri on March 18.

The petitioner informed the court through his counsel that no photograph of chief minister is pasted on 108 ambulances in any states like Haryana, Delhi, Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh. It was added that the petitioner had met union minister for health Ghulam Nabi Azad earlier, who had issued a circular directing all the states to follow a uniform design for free referral transport system under the National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) with a deadline of March 31, 2013.

It was submitted that since the Punjab government did not adhere to the circular, the petitioner was left with the only option to approach the court.

The court was also informed that the Punjab Youth Congress had held protests across the state on the issue and had highlighted that how the state government was taking credit of the schemes launched by the Centre.
