PM Modi inaugurates Bengaluru airport's 'Terminal in Garden' | 5 points
This is the first-of-its-kind terminal in a garden. It will have greenery within and outside and will be a visual delight like no other in the world, an official said.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday inaugurated the newly built terminal 2 of the Karnataka Airport. The new terminal has been developed at an investment of ₹5,000 crore. The new design makes it look like a garden with lush greenery greeting the passengers. Passengers will have to walk through the garden and there will be trees hanging from above. Here are 5 things to know about the new terminal
1. The terminal is spread over a total area of 2,55,645 square metre. In its first phase, it will have 22 contact gates, 15 bus gates, 95 check-in solutions and 17 security check lanes.

2. There will be nine customs hand baggage screenings. The gate lounge will have a seating capacity of 5,932.
3. Phase 1 of T-2 has a capacity of 25 million passengers per annum.

4. The Terminal-2 has been built on four guiding principles -- 'Terminal in a Garden', sustainability, technology and innovation, and art and culture of Karnataka, an airport official said.
