34th Spring Fest opens to a lively start in Panchkula

Being organised by the Haryana Shehri Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP), the 34th Spring Fest will conclude on Sunday

The 34th Spring Fest Flower Festival opened to enthusiastic crowds at the Town Park in Sector 5 on Saturday.

Being organised by the Haryana Shehri Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP), the festival will conclude on Sunday.

An HSVP spokesperson said over 1,800 entries were received from schools, colleges and other institutions for various competitions.

HSVP chief administrator Ajit Balaji Joshi said main activities of the festival included competitions of potted plants, flower arrangement, rangoli and health baby show. The winners will be awarded by Panchkula MLA Gian Chand Gupta on Sunday. “We welcome the onset of spring and summer seasons with this festival. People are very enthusiastic and have participated in good numbers,” Joshi added.

Various events, including a Hasya Ras Sammelan by schoolchildren, and competitions for mehndi, fancy dress, duet dance, mono acting, best out of waste, pot painting, face painting and folk dance have been organised during the two-day event.
