The MoU was signed between PU registrar YP Verma and UFV vice chancellor James Mandigo. PU vice chancellor Renu Vig was also present on the occasion. The dual degree programme will be established at the University Institute of Applied Management Sciences at PU.

As per the dual degree programme, students enrolled in the integrated BBA–MBA programme at PU will have the option to complete their third and fourth year of the BBA degree at UFV. On fulfilling the prescribed academic requirements, students will receive degrees from both institutions.

The course is bound to provide students with international exposure and academic knowledge overseas. Very few departments of university are offering international academic exchange opportunities to students. Dr SS Bhatnagar University Institute of Chemical Engineering and Technology is one of the few that have collaboration with Japan institute and offer learning opportunities abroad.

Describing the collaboration as a major step towards expanding overseas learning pathways, VC Vig said, “International academic partnerships strengthen educational standards and widen global exposure for students.” She suggested exploring the academic engagement of UFV with PU’s Institute for Social Science Education and Research.

UFV VC Mandigo thanked the PU authorities and referred to the nearly two-decade association between the two leading institutions of India and Canada. He expressed confidence that the dual degree programme would deepen academic ties and create new avenues for students. Dean international students, Kewal Krishan, proposed collaboration in business economics, citing UFV’s strengths in the discipline.

Under the partnership, students of PU will gain international academic exposure, access to global faculty and industry linkages in Canada, and improved employability in international markets. UFV students are expected to benefit from academic exchange opportunities, exposure to India’s business environment, and prospects for collaborative research and mobility.
