The ACB spokesperson said that accused Balkar Singh has been arrested on the complaint of Randeep Singh of Salwan village in Karnal.

The ACB has, meanwhile, also arrested a patwari, Naveen, posted at Pinana village in Sonepat for demanding and accepting a bribe of 5,000.

The complainant in the case had approached the ACB and alleged that the accused patwari was demanding 5,000 in lieu of mutation of land belonging to his family.

The complainant had also recorded the conversation between him and the patwari, said an ACB spokesperson.

A trap was laid and the accused patwari was caught red-handed while accepting 5,000 as a bribe from the complainant in the presence of two independent witnesses. The ACB team has recovered the money from the accused, he added.
