Greater Ludhiana Area Development Authority (GLADA) demolished an under-construction colony in Ladian Kalan on Thursday on the direction of additional deputy commissioner (ADC, urban development) Sandeep Kumar.

Kumar warned colonisers of strict penal action if they indulge in illegal construction and urged them to adopt a legal way and get licenses from GLADA, if they want to carry out their business in a hassle-free manner.
On November 6, GLADA had stopped illegal construction of two residential colonies in Threeke area.

Tax professionals raise issue with GST filing
The executive members of Indian Taxation Advocates Association organised a meeting with newly appointed GST assistant commissioners, Shivani Gupta and Manmohan Singh on Thursday. Ludhiana MC health officer accused of slapping clerk
A health officer of the Ludhiana municipal corporation (MC) has been accused of slapping and harassing a clerk deputed in the civic body’s sub-office near Middha Chowk. The clerk had submitted a complaint with MC commissioner Pardeep Sabharwal on Wednesday, following which additional commissioner Aaditya Dachalwal visited the office on Thursday to inquire the matter. Meanwhile, Dachalwal stated that nothing concrete has come to light as of now and efforts have been done to resolve the dispute, but the clerk has not been able to back the allegations with proof.
