A day after arresting a woman imposter and her aide for extorting money from the truck drivers near Transport Nagar, the police produced the accused before the court on Thursday. The court remanded the accused two days in police custody for questioning.
The accused have been identified as Ramandeep Kaur of Village Shale Chakk of Gurdaspur and her aide Vikram Singh of Prem Colony of Meharban.
Sub-Inspector Bhupinder Singh, SHO at Moti Nagar Police station, stated that the woman is already facing trial in a similar case lodged against her in Rupnagar.
An FIR under sections 204, 318(4), 336(2), 336 (3), 319(2) and 3(5) of BNS was lodged against the accused at Moti Nagar Police station.
