After assurance from Mohali police officials that an SIT would probe the matter, the protesters ended their two-hour demonstration; however, they warned of a statewide protest on March 30 if their demands were not met
A day after Mohali police booked controversial pastor Bajinder Singh, his supporters blocked roads and the entry to the Mohali SSP office, demanding cancellation of an FIR against him. The protesters also sought a theft case against Ranjit Kaur, 40, of Kharar, whom they accused of financial misconduct in the church.

Pastor Bajinder was booked days after a purported video of him assaulting a man and woman in his office went viral on social media, police said.
Christian leader Surjit Singh Thapar said, “A complaint was filed against Kaur on February 25 for alleged financial mismanagement and theft in the church. However, instead of acting on it, police booked pastor Bajinder, which he claimed is an attempt to influence the March 28 court decision in a sexual assault case.”
