Moose Wala killing: 'Fan' who clicked selfie among 8 arrested, says SIT
The statement identifies the eight persons arrested and the four shooters in the Moose Wala killing and further notes that the man who disguised as a fan clicked selfies with the singer-politician and shared information with shooters was also held.
The special investigation team (SIT) of the Punjab Police probing the broad daylight murder of singer-politician Shubhdeep Singh, known as Sidhu Moose Wala, on Tuesday said it has arrested eight people so far in connection with the case. They have been held on the charges of providing logistic support, conducting recce and harbouring the shooters of the singer, the SIT said in its first official statement.

The police also said they have identified four shooters who were involved in the killing of the 28-year-old Congress leader.
“Those arrested have been identified as Sandeep Singh alias Kekda of Sirsa, Haryana; Manpreet Singh alias Manna of Talwandi Sabo, Bathinda; Manpreet Bhau of Dhaipai, Faridkot; Saraj Mintu of village Dode Kalsia, Amritsar; Prabhdeep Sidhu alias Pabbi of Takhat-Mall, Haryana; Monu Dagar of village Rewli in Sonipat, Haryana; Pawan Bishnoi and Naseeb, both residents of Fatehabad, Haryana,” the statement read.
Divulging the roles of the arrested persons, additional director general of police (ADGP) Promod Ban said Sandeep alias Kekda, on the directions of gangster Goldy Brar and Sachin Thapan, who claims that gangster Lawrence Bishnoi is his maternal uncle, had kept a tab on the singer’s movements by impersonating himself as his fan. "Kekda also clicked selfies with the singer, when the latter was leaving his home minutes before his murder," he added.
“Kekda has shared all the inputs like the singer was not accompanied by his security personnel, the number of occupants, vehicle details and he is travelling in non-bullet-proof vehicle Mahindra Thar, with the shooters and handlers operating from abroad,” the ADGP said.
He added that Manpreet Manna had provided a Toyota Corolla car to Manpreet Bahu, who further delivered the car to two persons — suspected to be the shooters, on the directions of Saraj Mintu, who is a close aide of Brar and Thapan.
The SIT had made the first arrest in the Moose Wala killing on May 31, when it nabbed Manpreet Bhau of Dhaipai village of Faridkot district of Punjab. The investigator had alleged that Bhau had provided logistical support to the assailants. The same day, two gangsters, Manpreet Singh Manna and Saraj Sandhu, alias Mintoo, were also brought on production warrants.
A CCTV image has surfaced from the slain Punjabi singer’s village in Mansa moments before he was killed. The CCTV footage dated May 29, the day the killing took place, shows Moose Wala’s jeep which stopped near some people. In the footage, some people are seen taking selfies. The footage was recorded at 5:15 pm, while the singer was shot dead at 5:30 pm.
