The West Bengal sports minister Manoj Tiwary landed in a controversy after he made recent remarks against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) using a dialogue from a popular movie. Addressing a Trinamool Congress (TMC) rally on Sunday, he challenged the opposition party in the state with direct remarks and said “jhukega nhi sala”.
Tiwary was seen encouraging party workers and followers to remain united against the opposition.

Later, Tiwary apologised for his remarks and said he shouldn't have said that. “I should not have spoken like that,” he was quoted as saying by news agency ANI.
Tiwary joined Mamata Banerjee's All India Trinamool Congress in 2021 and won the Shibpur seat in the Assembly election and was appointed as the minister of state for youth affairs and sports.
