Recruitment for over 28K posts in UP police in April-May: Govt

After successful completion of police constables’ recruitment for 60,244 posts, the UP government is set to recruit 28,138 more personnel in the state police department. The application process for these posts will begin in April-May, said a press note from the state government media cell on Thursday. The application process will be online, and candidates will be selected based on their performance in written exams, physical tests, and interviews.

The press note stated that the Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board will start the recruitment process for various posts, including police sub-inspectors, constables, and other ranks. The board has prepared a roadmap for the upcoming recruitment process.
It further stated that as many as 4,242 posts of Sub-Inspector (Civil Police), 135 posts of Platoon Commander in PAC, 60 posts of Platoon Commander (Special Forces), 106 posts of women Platoon Commander for Banda, Lucknow, and Gorakhpur districts as well as 15,904 posts of Constable (PAC), Constable (Special Forces), and women Constable of PAC, 3,245 posts of Constable (Civil Police), 71 posts of Constable (Mounted Police) and 2,833 posts of Jail Warder will be filled during the process.
Notably, the board has recruited over 2.14 lakh personnel, including 34,832 women in the past eight years. The recruitment process has been streamlined, and the recruitment calendar has been updated. The board will also recruit 1,153 Computer Operators Grade A personnel, 44 Radio Assistant Operators. The board will also recruit skilled players for various sports.
