According to the Greater Noida authority, total outstanding water charges currently stand at approximately 84 crore, spread across multiple categories, including builder societies, residential properties, institutional and industrial units, residents’ welfare associations, IT parks, and commercial establishments.

Authority officials said the interest waiver has been rolled out in a phased manner, with higher concessions offered to those who cleared dues early. Defaulters were eligible for a 40% interest waiver until June 30, followed by a 30% concession until July 31. The current and final slab offers a 20% waiver through August 31.

“Those with pending water dues can avail the 20% interest waiver until August 31. Post this, the OTS will automatically lapse,” said Sunil Kumar Singh, additional chief executive officer of the Greater Noida authority.

The three-month scheme was approved during a board meeting with the aim of accelerating recovery of long-pending water arrears. Officials clarified that the outstanding amount pertains to a wide cross-section of consumers and is not restricted to individual residential connections alone.

In a parallel move, the authority has decided not to hike water tariffs for the 2026-27 financial year. Water charges had previously seen an annual increase of 10%.

“The water rates have not been increased in 2026-27,” Singh said, adding that the decision was taken on the initiative of authority CEO NG Ravi Kumar.
