Umesh Pal murder: Prayagraj police send arrest alerts for accused to seven states

Prayagraj police commissionerate has sent alerts to seven states in a bid to arrest gangster-turned-politician and former MP Atiq Ahmad’s wife Shaista Parveen, his son Asad and other assailants wanted in connection with the February 24 murder of lawyer Umesh Pal and his two police guards.

The alerts have been sent to Delhi, Maharashtra, Jharkhand, Bihar, West Bengal, Haryana and Punjab.

Prayagraj police have sent all details including information about physical appearances, photographs, criminal records etc of Shaista Parveen, Asad, Guddu Muslim, Gulam Hasan, Arman and Sabir.

The alert officially sent by Prayagraj police states that the accused are wanted in sensational murder of Umesh Pal and his two police security personnel. Shaista Parveen carries a reward of 25,000 on her arrest while the reward of 5 lakh each has been announced on the arrest of other five accused. As per the alert, the accused may be hiding in any city of these states and may commit crimes there also, said a senior police officer aware of the development.

The alert asks police of these states to search for them and inform Uttar Pradesh police if they receive any clue about their whereabouts, the official added.

It is worth mentioning that 15 police teams are already searching for the accused in different states and even in Nepal. Many associates and henchmen of Atiq Ahmad and Ashraf have been nabbed in other cities and states for questioning. It was suspected that they provided help to Asad and other shooters.

Meanwhile, police are also preparing to issue lookout notice for Shaista Parveen and other accused in a bid to stop them from leaving the country.

While police have photographs of all other accused, Shaista Parveen’s photograph is not available with police as she always wears a veil on her face when in public. Police officials said that attempts were being made to secure her photographs.
