LU launches ‘Quartile-Excel’ Scheme to promote research publications

LUCKNOW In an effort to promote research publications in Scopus indexed journals and recognise faculty excellence, the University of Lucknow has launched the ‘Quartile-Excel’ Scheme.
The development comes after the executive council approved a proposal presented by Dean Academics Professor Poonam Tandon. The proposal introduces the innovative ‘Quartile-Excel’ Scheme, an incentive program designed to empower faculty members and incentivise them to publish their research work in Scopus indexed journals while upholding the highest standards of research quality.
The scheme offers a range of incentives and recognition measures to foster a research-driven academic culture at the university. Key features of the scheme include -- Quartile-Based Incentives. Faculty members will receive specific incentives based on the quartile ranking of the Scopus indexed journals in which their research is published. Higher quartile rankings will be associated with higher incentives, providing a compelling motivation to strive for top-tier publications.
Sharing further details, Prof Poonam Tandon said, “The awardees under the ‘Quartile-Excel’ Scheme will be honoured in a ceremony with certificates and monetary incentives. The monetary incentive will be equally shared among all contributors from the university, reinforcing the importance of collaborative research endeavours.”
Through this visionary scheme, the University of Lucknow endeavours to create an environment that inspires cutting-edge research, promotes knowledge creation, and contributes significantly to the advancement of society and academia, she said.
