Earlier, the registration window was open from January 10 to February 12. With the extension, students who have not yet applied will get additional time to complete the online process through the official website, www.mahacet.org.

This year marks a significant change in the examination pattern, as candidates for the PCM, PCB and MBA/MMS CET will be given two opportunities to appear for the entrance test, a move introduced for the first time by the CET Cell following directives from Higher and Technical Education minister Chandrakant Patil. The decision aims to provide students with opportunities similar to those available in national-level exams such as JEE (Main), which is conducted twice a year.

According to data released by the CET Cell, a total of 11,25,219 students are expected to appear for the entrance examinations across the three streams. Of these, 7,34,512 students have registered for the first attempt, while 3,90,707 candidates have opted for both attempts.

For MHT CET (PCM group), 4,12,280 students have registered for the first attempt, while 2,64,057 have opted for both attempts. In the PCB group, 2,33,809 students have registered for the first attempt and 90,804 for both attempts. For the MBA/MMS CET, 88,423 candidates have registered for the first attempt and 35,846 have opted for both attempts.

The CET Cell clarified that appearing for the first examination is mandatory, while the second attempt is optional. However, candidates must decide at the time of application whether they wish to appear for one or both attempts, as no changes will be allowed later. If a student appears for both attempts, the higher of the two scores will be considered for admission.
