PMC chief directs officials to fast-track road projects, land acquisition in Karvenagar

Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) chief Naval Kishore Ram on Saturday directed officials to expedite pending infrastructure projects and land acquisition in Karvenagar ward 30, officials said.

Ram directed the road department to submit a proposal within a week to acquire land required for the 12-metre development plan (DP) road between Matoshri Old Age Home and Vandevi temple.

The 36-metre-wide Shivane-Kharadi DP road, 1.80 km long, has been developed over 1.30 km, with the remaining 0.50 km requiring land acquisition. About 14,000 sq m is involved, affecting 19 landowners. The civic administration was directed to expedite TDR proposals for 7,000 sq m and land acquisition for the remaining 7,000 sq m.

Ram directed officials to complete land acquisition for the 30-metre DP road between Jawalkar Udyan and Ambedkar Chowk.

At the Sun City-Karvenagar new bridge, officials were directed to initiate land acquisition for the remaining land on the Sinhagad Road side. Ram sought technical action on the Karvenagar flyover near Kakade City. Officials were asked to verify land ownership along Panand Road opposite AJ Avenue and take possession if it belongs to the government.

The 24-metre DP road along the Warje-Shivane riverbank will be taken up under the river rejuvenation project, officials said.

Senior officials from the road, building, project, sewage and property departments, along with local representatives Rajesh Barate, Reshmatabai Barate, Tejashree Pawale, Swapnil Dudhane and Sushil Mengade, attended the inspection.
