Six foreign women assault women cops on MG road

Gurugram Six women from Turkmenistan and a driver from Delhi were arrested for misbehaving with women police personnel at a checkpoint on MG Road on Friday morning. They were sent to judicial custody later in the day.
The six women had been staying in India without visa and other relevant documents, police said. A case against them was registered at DLF phase 2 police station under sections 186,332,353 of the IPC and sections 3 and 14 of Foreigners Act.
The women were identified as Jemila Orunbayew, Shahlo Turayera, Rita Sadiyiyeva, Mahriban Sayipova, Sabina Aydemir, Vradiy Mujagul. The driver was identified as Pankaj Tomar.
All of them had been staying in a hotel in Paharganj and were regular visitors to the pubs and bars on MG Road, police said.
“The accused started misbehaving with our personnel when they were stopped at a checkpoint near Sikanderpur Metro station and were asked to produce their passports and other documents. When asked to behave, they got into fisticuffs with a woman police officer and tore her dress. They were arrested on the spot and produced in the court on Friday,” inspector Gourav Phogat, station house officer, DLF Phase 2 police station, said.
A police team, led by sub-inspector Manjusha, stopped their vehicle coming from Iffco Chowk and asked them to show their passports and other documents. However, the women could not produce the papers and got into a brawl with sub-inspector Suman.
“The women officers called for reinforcements and the accused were arrested,” Phogat said.
A case was registered against the accused on the complaint of sub inspector Suman.
