Flights it very full and slower in the air, around off, Maheesh Theekshana swings across wildly but inside edges it onto the pads. It rolls on the strips.

OUT! TIMBER! England can see the finishing line now. Quicker one from Liam Dawson bowled flatter as well and attacking the stumps. Dushmantha Chameera charges down the track to slog but is beaten comprehensively. The ball turns a bit as well and castles into the stumps behind. Dawson ends up with figures of - 4-0-27-2.

Oh, a leading edge and that could have been runout at either end as well. Flighted ball, drifting in. Dushmantha Chameera looks to flick but gets a leading edge back over the bowler's head. The batters run one and push for the second. The throw comes in from the deep, it misses the stumps at the bowler's end but hits the stumps at the keeper's end. Chameera does make it back in time, though.

On middle, Theekshana comes forward and eases it to long on for one.

FOUR! That should have been stopped. Floated up, wide outside off, Theekshana lunges across and plays the lap down to fine leg. Sam Curran over there runs to his right and puts in a tentative slide across, fumbling the ball onto the ropes.

Flatter one, Chameera comes forward and pushes it towards cover-point for a single.

Nice and full, on off, Chameera blocks it off.

Oh, just wide of first slip. Tossed up on off, turning away, Maheesh Theekshana pushes at it and gets a thick outside edge that runs away down to deep third for a couple of runs more.

Flighted delvery, fuller and on off, Theekshana blocks it on the front foot.

Oh, that's a fine piece of fielding from Bethell. Tossed-up delivery, Maheesh Theekshana laces the cover drive but Jacob Bethell at deep cover dives to his right and saves a couple of runs for his team.

Good length on middle, blocked off by Maheesh Theekshana.

OUT! TAKEN! That is a sensational piece of fielding and game awareness from Will Jacks and it is he who makes the difference for England yet again. Adil Rashid drags the length short and bowls it flatter on middle and off. Dasun Shanaka rocks back and looks to muscle the pull but ends up hitting it flat towards deep mid-wicket. Jacks is stationed there, moves to his left and takes a running catch but knows that he is going to go over the ropes. He has a look with the side eye and sees Tom Banton approaching towards him from widish long on and flicks it to him. Banton gobbles it up and this should be the final nail in the coffin for Sri Lanka.

Tossed up on off, Chameera steps out and strokes it on the full, down to long off for one. Much better from Chameera.

SIX! Geez, Sri Lanka needed that! Good length from Overton again, around the top of off and middle. Dasun Shanaka backs away and whacks it with disdain and sends the ball sailing wide of long off for a biggie. 66 needed now off 36 balls.

Length ball down leg, nudged away off the inside edge and down to fine leg for a single.

Chameera simply can't turn the strike over at the moment and the required rate keeps climbing. Fuller and angled into the pads, Chameera misses the flick and gets hit on the pads.

Good short ball and that will sting a bit as well. Banged in short and around off, this one skids through. Chameera looks to sway away from the line of the ball but the ball hits him flush on the right shoulder.

Good length on off, darts back in with some extra bounce. Chameera hops back to defend but wears it on the thigh pad.

Oh, a lucky escape for the Lankan skipper. Dug in short and at the body, Dasun Shanaka looks to pick it up but gets a top edge that flies over short fine leg. The keeper and the fielder at deep fine leg run after it but the ball falls smack-dab in the middle. Single taken.

Tossed up, fuller and on off, Chameera solidly blocks it off.

A googly now, on leg and turns into the pads. Chameera looks to block down the line but the ball goes past the inside edge and pings him on the front pad.

A full-pitched delivery on middle, Dushmantha Chameera plays it late and digs it out.

Not the best of shot choice from Chameera. Tossed up around off, Dushmantha Chameera lofts it over mid off and mistimes it badly. The ball lands well short of long off and they get a single.

Flighted ball on off, turns away, Dasun Shanaka eases it to covers for a single. A few too many runs required for Shanaka to try and just hog the strike and he will have to trust his partner here.

OUT! HIT WICKET! Oopsie. It's all going wrong for Sri Lanka. Overton bashes the surface and gets the ball to skid through. Hemantha swivels for the pull, but he is hurried, and the ball hits him on the waist before dribbling behind. One hand comes off the bat handle for Dushan, and he cannot control the follow-through of his bat swing. The bat ends up clipping the top of the stumps, and the bails come off.

Honing in on the off stump, full in length, Dasun works it across the line to deep square leg and gets to the other end.

Pitches it up, on middle. Dushan plays a punchy drive with a straight bat. The ball bounces on the turf and goes towards the bowler. Overton sticks out his right hand but the ball clips his fingertips and goes towards mid off.

FOUR! Crunched! Dawson gives the ball air, but the length is a bit too full, allowing Dasun to get under it. Shanaka makes room and slams it back over the bowler's head for a boundary.

Nice and full, on middle, Hemantha pushes it down the ground. Dawson gets around to his right and dives. He even gets a hand on it but cannot prevent the single as the ball rolls behind.

Good effort! Low full toss, sliding in at the pads. Shanaka gets inside the line and plays the sweep but Sam Curran dives to his right at short fine leg and cuts it off. Just a single.

A hint of turn, on a length, outside off, Hemantha plays it on the up to long off and crosses over.

This is slowed down and looped up, on middle. Dasun Shanaka jumps out of the crease but realises that he cannot get to the pitch of the ball for the big hit. He adjusts by just dabbing it beside the strip on the leg side.

Fuller and quicker, on off, Shanaka knocks it to cover.

This is dragged down by Rashid but Shanaka cannot take full toll. He walks inside the line and plays the half-sweep behind square leg. A bit of a bobble in the deep for Sam Curran and the batters come back for the second.

Pushed through from the front of the hand at the sticks. Dasun stays back to a full ball but manages to stab it down on the off side.

Slightly shorter, on off, Dushan waits on the back foot before punching it to long on. They cross.

Hangs it up there, on a nagging length, on off. Dushan Hemantha presses forward and keeps it out.

This keeps coming in with the arm, short and on middle and leg. Dasun Shanaka jams his bat down on the ball. Gets an inside edge to short fine leg.

OUT! CAUGHT AND BOWLED! Another soft dismissal. Disbelief on the face of Kamindu Mendis. Liam Dawson pushes the length up and tosses this one up, on middle. Kamindu tries to flick it away on the leg side by closing the bat face. The ball holds in the surface and a leading edge is found. The ball balloons back to Dawson and he accepts the dolly.

SIX! Long boundary, but Kamindu Mendis has cleared it by some distance. Dawson drops it fractionally short, on off. Mendis is quick to pick up the length and pummels it way over deep mid-wicket for a biggie. The 50 comes up for Sri Lanka.

Drags the length back a touch and this is slower through the air, on middle. Kamindu nudges it to mid-wicket.

Full and attacking the front pad. Shanaka stays rooted to the crease and brings his bat out in front. Nurdles it in front of square leg for a single.

Tossed up, full and on off, Shanaka eases it to long on for a single. A wonderful spell from Will Jacks comes to an end.

Excellent delivery! Jacks angles across a length delivery, just outside off and it holds a bit into the surface. Shanaka steps across and behind to flick it away but misses.

SIX! A huge roar from the crowd, courtesy the Lankan skipper. Jacks errs in his length and bowls it short and on middle, Shanaka picks the length quickly, clears his front leg and hammers it over square leg for a biggie.

Darts it on the pads. Kamindu Mendis helps it away with the angle to square leg for a run.

Slower in the air, full and on middle, Mendis taps it back to Jacks.

Touch quicker and fuller, angling on the pads. Mendis tries to flick it away but gets a soft leading edge and it rolls back on the deck.

Tidy first over from Liam Dawson. Just 3 runs off it. Gives no room as Dawson attacks the sticks. Shanaka keeps it out on the leg side.

Touch straighter and on the pads. Mendis works it behind square leg and runs across.

Tosses it up, in line of the stumps. Mendis nudges with soft hands to the mid-wicket fielder.

Attacks the stumps with a length delivery. Shanaka gets inside the line and clips it to deep mid-wicket for a run.

Drops it full and on middle, Mendis gets forward and drills it to long on for a single.

Flatter delivery from Dawson, on middle, Mendis rocks back and turns it to short mid-wicket.

Drops it full and wide of the batter. Dasun Shanaka leans across and hits it off the toe end of the bat to mid off. Sri Lanka are 34/5 at the end of the Powerplay, needing another 113 runs in 84 balls.

OUT! TAKEN! Half of the side perishes. What are we seeing here? Wellalage tries to show intent, but he has to go back. Simple stuff from England here. Jacks loops up a fuller delivery on middle, Wellalage comes down the track to launch it over mid on but the bat turns in his hands. The ball takes the inner part of the blade and flies to mid on, where Harry Brook takes a couple of steps back and gobbles it up.

Fuller delivery, on middle and off. Wellalage uses his feet to whip it away but mistimes it straight to square leg.

Jacks slows up the pace and tosses it up, around off. Wellalage prods to defend but gets an inside edge onto the pads.

FOUR! The crowd again find its voice. Three boundaries in a row. Pushes it full and on the pads, Wellalage uses the angle as he gets inside the line and paddles it fine, past short fine leg for a boundary.

FOUR! Consecutive boundaries for Lanka! Will Jacks tosses it up, on a nagging length and wide outside off. Wellalage frees his arms and crunches it through covers, in the gap for a boundary.

FOUR! Edgy but much needed for Sri Lanka, as it will release some pressure. Jofra Archer bowls the hard length delivery, around off. Mendis hurries as he defends but splices his shot to third man. Jamie Overton shifted from short third man to first slip just before this delivery and the ball rolled to the fence.

OUT! EDGED AND GONE! Sri Lanka four down in a flash. Archer keeps it simple as he attacks the stumps with a length delivery. Kamil Mishara looks to force it away on the off side but gets a thick outside edge which flies to gully. The ball dips towards Jamie Overton, but he does well to get his fingers underneath. Lanka lose their top order inside the Powerplay.

Straighter delivery, full and on the pads. Kamil Mishara clips it to the mid-wicket fielder.

On a good length and around off, Wellalage guides it to deep backward point for a single.

Sri Lanka living dangerously! Serves it on a good length and on middle, extra pace and bounce. Wellalage steps across to paddle it away but misses and the ball flies over the stumps.

Back of a length, into the surface and on off. No room to swing the blade and Wellalage taps it to point.

This is speared in, on middle, Dunith flicks this full ball through mid-wicket and takes a single. End of a superb over for England. 2 wickets and 2 runs off it.

Dunith Wellalage negotiates it well. Full and quick, on the off stump. Wellalage defends it out off the front foot.

OUT! IN THE AIR AND GONE! Oh, dear! Pavan Rathnayake gives the bowler the charge on the very first ball, but it goes horribly wrong for him. Two in two for Will Jacks, and the start gets even better for England. Full and around the off stump, Rathnayake jumps out of the crease and fights the angle as he swings to go down the ground to a ball leaving him. Slices it off the outer half over cover, where Tom Banton runs over his left shoulder and takes the catch. Jacks is on a hat-trick.

OUT! CAUGHT AND BOWLED! The move to give Will Jacks the new ball has worked. The crowd have been silenced. Jacks pushes it through, full and on middle. Kusal steps out and looks to clip it away on the leg side with a closed bat face. The ball comes on slower than he anticipated. Mendis ends up closing the bat face early, and the ball pops back towards the bowler off a leading edge. The replays show that Jacks was starting to move towards his right after seeing Mendis close the bat face before stopping and accepting the catch around his left knee.

Across off, Kusal reaches out in front and firms the drive to this full ball to mid off.

Full and attacking the front pad. Kamil Mishara brings his bat out in front for the block. Ekes out an inside edge onto the pads and the batters sneak in a run as the ball rolls in front of square leg.

FOUR! Lovely shot and Mendis is on his way! Too straight, too full, on the pads. Kusal does not miss out. Plays it right in the gap between deep fine leg and deep square leg for a boundary.

Full and straight, attacking the stumps, Mendis watchfully defends.

OUT! CAUGHT! Jamie Overton went back on the fence just before this ball, and Pathum Nissanka has picked him out. Archer serves a full ball, outside the line of the off stump. Nissanka was better off going through the off side but he opted to whip it away on the leg side. He has to drag it from outside off and he fails to get any power on the shot. Overton is looking into the sun but he moves to his left in the deep and takes a safe catch over his head. A big wicket for England.

FOUR! Back-to-back boundaries! Archer strays on the pads, full in length. Nissanka crouches and goes for the sweep. Gets it finer than he would have intended and the ball beats Jos Buttler to his left.

FOUR! Nicely done! Archer hits the deck hard, over middle and leg. Nissanka takes a step away from the stumps and plays it very late to find the gap. He uses the pace and glides it off the leg stump to the left of backward point for a four.

Pitched up, on middle and leg, Pathum Nissanka charges down the track but fails to get under the ball. He can only hit it along the ground to mid off.

In and around the off pole, Mishara hangs back and angles it from the crease to backward point. A good comeback from Jacks after conceding a boundary on the first ball.

Fuller now, in line with the off stump. Kamil presses half-forward to meet the ball. Bunts it off the inner half to the left of the bowler.

Short and outside off, there to be put away. Mishara hops back and slaps it hard but picks out the cover-point fielder.

Flatter and shorter, on off, Mishara pats it off the back foot to cover.

Jacob Bethell cuts it off this time! Around off, on a good length, Kamil thumps it from the crease towards cover-point. A favourable bounce for Bethell this time and he dives to parry it towards the point fielder.

FOUR! That should have been stopped! Will Jacks shares the new ball with Archer. Tossed up, on a nagging length, a hint of turn, Kamil waits on the back foot and punches it to cover-point, where Jacob Bethell moves to his right and dives. The ball goes under his hands and goes away for a boundary.

Full and at the sticks, leaving the left-hander. Kamil Mishara pushes out in front of his body with hard hands. The ball squirts off an outside edge to deep backward point. Mishara is also underway with a single.

Wide! A tight call, but it goes against the bowler. Archer is not happy one bit. Moving away, flirting wih the guideline, on a good length. Kamil extends his hands to flay it away but misses.

Going across the left-hander but it sneaks just inside the tramline. Kamil Mishara lets it be. Jos Buttler dives to his left to gather the ball.

Pace off, full and on the pads. Pathum Nissanka clips it square on the leg side and gets off the mark with a single.

Slip has disappeared after 2 balls. Angled into the right-hander, on a hard length. Nissanka looks to get it up and over short fine leg but the ball climbs onto him. The ball catches him on the forearm before deflecting onto the shoulder and then it drops on the off side.

Hits the top of off, does Jofra, on a back of a length. Nissanka hops and taps it back on the deck.

A swing and a miss first up! Archer steams in from over the wicket and bashes the surface, outside off. Nissanka gets on his toes and swivels for the pull but the ball goes under his bat.
