DC vs SRH Highlights IPL 2022: David Warner, Rovman Powell batting heroics help Delhi Capitals beat Sunrisers Hyderabad

Delhi Capitals have been very inconsistent as compared to the previous edition. The Rishabh Pant-led unit are yet to win two matches on the trot. Here is how they've fared in the tournament so far: W L L W L W L W L

Rishabh Pant, who is yet to score his first half-century of the season, has just once spent time for 30 or more balls in the ongoing edition. 

He averages 33.43 and has gathered 234 runs from the eight innings he has played.

There's a stiff competition for the number three and four spot, with Rajasthan Royals and Royal Challengers Bangalore currently placed third and fourth respectively on the points table with 12 points each. 

The fifth spot is occupied by Sunrisers Hyderabad with 10 points, followed by Punjab Kings, who also have same number of points. 

Delhi Capitals are placed seventh, followed by Kolkata Knight Riders, who have eight points each. 

Ahead of the clash, here's what Delhi batter David Warner had to say about his team's chances: “Moving forward from where we are, we've obviously got to win every game to make it to the finals. There's a strong competition, two teams we have got to come against - Punjab Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad, who are pretty much similar points to us. We could get that upper hand if we beat Sunrisers. We then go into the top four, but obviously, we need RCB to start losing as well. It's quite a congested table, but exciting for the rest of the tournament.”

If we have to pick the biggest positive from the Delhi Capitals camp it has got to be Kuldeep Yadav. The spinner has been the anchor figure in all the four matches, his franchise have won so far. 

Bowling at an economy of 8.23, the spinner has so far picked 17 wickets from nine encounters and is the leading wicket-taker from Delhi Capitals. 

Washington Sundar was forced to sit out after enduring a blow on his bowling hand as he dived to save a boundary. His absence was largely felt as the part-timers failed to check the run-rate, leading CSK to pile a gigantic 202/2 on the board. 

With Sundar likely to sit out, the franchise could go back to Abdul Samad, who has hardly been used ever since the poor start at the tournament. He was one of the players, who was retained by the franchise and can bowl spin and hit some huge sixes.

The venue has been a happy hunting ground for both the teams. Delhi Capitals have secured three of their four wins at the Brabourne Stadium in this season. SRH, too, have maintained a 100 per cent record at the venue, winning both the encounters they played here.

The crucial mid-table clash will also see David Warner playing against his former franchise, Sunrisers Hyderabad, for the first time after the unceremonious exit. 

The star opener is in good touch but has so far failed to convert his decent starts into big totals, something which he would look to change going into the clash. 

Warner currently leads the batting charts in the Delhi camp and has so far amassed 264 runs from seven outings at a strike-rate of 156.21.
