Gaikwad now registers his highest score in IPL 2022 so far. He races to 19 off 12 balls. After a wary start, Gaikwad is finally finding his groove.

Gaikwad takes on Dayal. After two successive dots, Gaikwad charges down the track to flick the delivery onto his body over the deep square leg region.

Finally. CSK have their first boundary after 15 balls, albeit unintentionally. Gaikwad doesn't offer an aggressive shot, but finds a thick inside edge as he looks to place a length delivery outside off towards cover. The ball races towards fine leg boundary.

“Jaddu has been with us for a fair few years, he is finding his way. My job is to give him as much information and as much freedom. It's an interesting process,” says the CSK head coach.

Chennai Super Kings have not tinkered with the winning combination, as they field the same side that defeated the RCB for its first win of the season.

“We would have bowled first as well. Now we will look to put a good score on the board and put pressure on them. After the last game we had a day off and back to basics with the training and stuff,” says Jadeja.

“Bit of stiffness in the groin area for Hardik, so as a team we didn't want to take a chance. He will rest and hopefully be back for the next game,” Rashid says during the toss.
