16:12 hrs IST: 15 overs remain in the day. We are going in to overtime.
16:03 hrs IST: England have not been able to reverse swing the ball as much as the Indian pacers have. This does not bode well as the tour progresses. In India, reverse swing also plays a big part.
15:57 hrs IST: Lovely shot, too full and wide from Stokes, Kohli leans into the drive and caresses it wide of cover and point for a boundary.
15:53 hrs IST: Vijay and Kohli are ensuring India do not suffer any further hiccups before the close.
15:46 hrs IST: Virat Kohli has started off slowly. England trying hard to get some wickets before the close.

15:35 hrs IST: WICKET! Stokes finally breaks the partnership. Short and wide delivery, Pujara opens the bat face and steers it straight to first slip. The umpires check for the no-ball but Stokes is alright. Ends a magnificent knock. The crowd are on their feet to cheer Pujara off.

09:11 hrs IST: India dropped five catches on day one and they missed two simple straightforward chances on day two. After the failure of the fielders, it is time for the batsmen to stand up.
09:02 hrs IST: Missed out all the action on day 2. Here is a recap of all the action with our video analysis
09:01 hrs IST: England became the first visiting team to notch up a total of over 500 in a Test in India after four years. Ben Stokes, Moeen Ali and Joe Root scored centuries while India did not help their cause with some sloppy fielding.
09:00 hrs IST: A warm welcome to the third day of the first Test between India and England from Rajkot. It is another wonderful day weatherwise at the Saurashtra Cricket Association stadium but India face a tall task today.
India’s batsmen would have to watch out for variable bounce more than prodigious turn on a Rajkot wicket which was at its best for batting on the first two days.
After winning the toss and asking the hosts to bowl on a docile pitch, an increasingly confident England capitalised on some slack fielding to amass 537 runs, effectively batting India out of the first match of the five-Test series.
India openers Gautam Gambhir and Murali Vijay safely negotiated the 23 overs they faced to take their side to 63 without loss at stumps, trailing England by 474 runs.
After Joe Root scored a hundred on Wednesday, Moeen Ali and Ben Stokes matched the feat a day later to mark the first time in 55 years that an England side had three batsmen score centuries in the same innings at an Asian venue.
Geoff Pullar, Ken Barrington and Ted Dexter all scored hundreds in the second innings of a test against India at Kanpur in December 1961.
