The 'Men in Blue' will return to the 50-over format for the first time since March 18, while the hosts last played an ODI on July 4. India head into the contest on the back of a 2-1 series against England at home, while the Lions of Lanka come into the series after suffering a 0-2 defeat to England.
While India haven't had to make any changes since naming their squad, the hosts will have two names missing from the initial list due to injuries. Explosive left-handed batsman Kusal Perera has been ruled out due to a right shoulder sprain, while left-arm pacer Binura Fernando will not take part in the ODI series as he sprained his ankle during training.
