India vs Sri Lanka 3rd T20 Highlights: IND register historic 12th consecutive T20I win, clinch series sweep over SL

Scare for Sri Lanka. India went for a review but replays showed it was going past the leg stump. India are dominating at the moment despite losing the review.

This is a horror start for Sri Lanka. Nissanka tried to go big but holed out to Venkatesh Iyer at mid-off. Avesh enters the wicket-takers column. What a start from Avesh! He bowls a wicket maiden.

Also, Rohit is now the most-capped T20I player. He is appearing in his 125th game in the shortest format, going past Pakistan's Shoaib Malik for the feat (124 T20Is).

Dharamsala is relatively warm today but we could see a drop in temperature as the match progresses.

Jadeja returned to the team after a long injury lay-off and left his mark with the bat by scoring a whirlwind knock in the second T20I on Saturday. "I need to be ready to bat wherever they want me, score some runs and win matches for the team"

"It takes time but I was practicing at the NCA in Bengaluru, and had a few good sessions with both bat and ball. I was mentally ready for this series, knew I had to score runs and take wickets, and was ready for it," says Jadeja on his comeback.

Will be interesting to see who opens in Ishan's absence. Also, the Indian bowling attack has gone through a major overhaul. Bumrah, Bhuvi and Chahal are all rested, and Bishnoi, Kuldeep, Avesh and Siraj are in the starting eleven.

"We will bat first, a very good wicket, the conditions are really good. Two changes for us. We want to win at least one game for pride, a good opportunity for our boys," says Shanaka.

"We wanted to bowl first as well, want to keep challenging to get better as a team, every opportunity counts. Ishan is ruled out, and wasn't feeling great last night. Bumrah, Bhuvi and Chahal are all rested. Bishnoi, Kuldeep, Avesh and Siraj are in. It's a great feeling representing your country in 125 T20Is, feels good, look to continue playing for many more years," says Rohit.

Sri Lanka have won the toss and elected to bat first.

It's the Indian team's last T20 International before the IPL extravaganza starts. Dharamsala is a cold venue and Sri Lanka will look to finally get a win under their belt.

Rohit would also look to lead the side to fourth series whitewash in the shortest format. He has so far India to series clean sweeps against Sri Lanka (2017), New Zealand (2021) and West Indies (2022).

Avesh Khan could also return to the mix. The promising Madhya Pradesh player gave away 42 runs from his four overs on his debut against the West Indies. He could make a comeback if the team management tinkers with the playing XI.

11 consecutive T20I wins and seems like India have found their lost mojo after a mediocre outing in last year's T20 World Cup. 12th win and Rahul Dravid would be pleased with his team's performance, especially when the T20 showpiece event is just months away.

Shreyas will be looking to notch up his third consecutive fifty in the format. He has stepped up in Virat Kohli's absence to take control of the batting attack.

"I was in shock when I saw the replays myself. It was important for me to time the ball - it was swinging and seaming. Ishan started well, but when he got out, Sanju got us going, and when he was dismissed, Jaddu bhai came out to close the match for us," said Shreyas in the post-match presentation on Saturday.

Shreyas Iyer starred with the bat in last game and he earned massive praise from legendary Sunil Gavaskar, who praised the youngster for “playing with the full face of the bat”.

"Iyer was playing with the full face of the bat as much as possible except the odd occasions. He was unbelievable. It was more like a Djokovic or a Federer forehand," Gavaskar said on Star Sports.

India are currently tied with New Zealand in the list of most wins by a team in T20Is (at home). The Rohit Sharma-led unit will dislodge the Kiwis and secure the top spot if they win this T20 International. One more T20I win will put India ahead with 40 wins from 61 games, one more than New Zealand.
