Mumbai Indians have a chance to fight for a top two finish after a thrilling win over Sunrisers Hyderabad in Mumbai.
The Mumbai Indians held their nerve and beat Sunrisers Hyderabad via Super Over in a thrilling Indian Premier League encounter at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Thursday.
Manish Pandey hit a huge six off Hardik Pandya on the last ball of SRH’s chase to ensure that the match headed into a Super Over contest.
But the star Hyderabad batsman was run out on the first delivery of the Super Over and the away side were restricted to 8/2 after Jasprit Bumrah removed Mohammad Nabi on the fourth ball.

It was much needed win for the three-time champions as they now jump to the second spot on the IPL table. Both MI and DC have 16 points each but Rohit Sharma’s troops have a better Net Run Rate of +0.321 in comparison to Delhi’s -0.096.
The top two teams after the league stage get two cracks at making it into the final and that is why this win is very important for the Blue Brigade.
Chennai with 18 points are all but certain to finish in the top two and after this victory, MI too are a bit closer to their goal, courtesy of a superior NRR.
Delhi Capitals next play Rajasthan Royals on Saturday while Mumbai Indians will lock horns against Kolkata Knight Riders on Sunday.
If both teams end up winning their respective clashes, Mumbai are more likely to finish ahead of Delhi and get two attempts at making it into the championship clash on May 12.
