'Chacha Chowdhary MSD closes the door...': Irfan Pathan's stunning 'MS Dhoni' remark for playoff-bound CSK
Ex-India all-rounder Irfan Pathan has backed MS Dhoni's Chennai Super Kings to enter the playoffs this season in the IPL.
Under the leadership of legendary cricketer MS Dhoni, four-time champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) are eyeing a top-two finish in the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Dhoni's Yellow Brigade will meet David Warner's Delhi Capitals (DC) in match No. 55 of the IPL 2023 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium on Wednesday. Dhoni and Co. are only three points behind table-toppers Gujarat Titans (GT) in the IPL 2023 standings.
With a healthy NRR, Dhoni's CSK can still fight for the fourth playoff spot even after losing their last three league games of the season. Before meeting Delhi Capitals in Chennai, the hosts had a 3-2 record at home in IPL 2023. Sharing his views ahead of CSK's match against DC in the IPL 2023, former India all-rounder Irfan Pathan backed Chennai Super Kings to enter the playoffs this season. Pathan, who also represented DC and CSK during his IPL career, opined that Dhoni's men will aim to secure a top-two finish this season.
"CSK is sure to qualify for the playoffs. Now they will try to make it to the Top-2. I always say that whenever any team comes to their home ground, 'Chacha Chowdhary' MSD closes the door of his stadium and thrashes the opposition mercilessly. CSK is a ruthless team and it deals with opposition teams in its own way," Pathan told Star Sports.
Talking about Dhoni ahead of the IPL 2023 match against Delhi Capitals, former India cricketer S Sreesanth spoke at length about the biggest quality of the CSK skipper. "MS Dhoni's biggest quality is that he brings the best out of the players. And if they don't know, he'll make sure they understand their strengths. When they get the backing of the captain and the team atmosphere is so good, players bring out the best in them," Sreesanth added.
