PES vs LAH Commentary

1:17 PM IST Zalmi's bowlers outfoxed the Qalandars - Lahore Qalandars' batting performance was underwhelming. Despite a promising start from Fakhar Zaman and Abdullah Shafique, who formed a solid 40-run partnership after Naeem's early exit, their momentum was disrupted by Nahid Rana's timely breakthrough. From that point on, it was all about Bracewell, who decisively claimed the crucial wickets of Zaman, Sikandar Raza, and Haseebullah Khan, effectively choking the batting order and leaving the team struggling. After the fall of the fifth wicket, the wickets started to tumble, and the hopes of getting close to the target faded slowly. It was Dunith Wellalage who fought hard, but just couldn’t get the better of the Zalmi bowlers. By the end of the inning, Michael Bracewell and Sufiyan Muqeem bagged three wickets each, Nahid Rana picked up 2 and Aamer Jamal and Shoriful Islam chipped in for one each.
1:16 PM IST Adios! That wraps up our coverage. A dominant victory for Peshawar Zalmi boosted them to the top of the table! But the thrilling PSL action continues right after this encounter as Karachi Kings will take on Hyderabad Kingsmen. So take a short break and be sure to tune in early to catch the pre-match build-up, but until then, goodbye and cheers!
1:12 PM IST Kusal Mendis wins the Player of the Match for his magnificent strokeplay, scoring 74 off 48 deliveries.
1:06 PM IST The comeback from the Qalandars - Not much over after Babar Azam's dismissal, Kusal Mendis (48 off 48 deliveries) lost his wicket as Afridi got the job done to bring two new batters in the death overs, and after that, wickets started to tumble one after the other. No lower order batter was able to get into the double digits and ended up putting 174 runs target for their opposition. Now it’s going to be a hefty task for the Qalandar batters to do as they had been fielding under the setting sun and now they have to bat with patience against the season's unbeaten team, but the return of Fakhar Zaman would help the top order to get a strong start. So refill your snacks and join us back in some time!
1:06 PM IST The classic Babar-Mendis partnership! The inning started with an early wicket in shape of Mohammad Haris, dismissed by none other than Shaheen Afridi, but it’s once again the partnership of Babar Azam and Kusal Mendis which thrashed the hopes of the defending champions to restrict their opposition under a low par total. They kept on knocking and formed a formidable partnership. Remember the game against Karachi? How this partnership gave this franchise their highest total in the PSL history, and all that was after losing the toss. Today, the same event was flashing as these two batters were in no mood to give up their wicket, but Usama Mir stepped up big time to get the wicket of Babar Azam (43 off 40 balls) and broke the 109 partnership in the 16th over, which technically switched the momentum of the game big time.
1:06 PM IST Zalmi batting unit delivers once again - Zalmi once again showed why they have one of the best batting line-up this season of the Pakistan Super League. Even after losing the toss and being sent to bat first, the batters have done really well to post 173 runs on the board, which is a formidable one. However, the Qalandars skipper, Shaheen Afridi, would feel a bit relieved as by the end of the 15th over, it looked like Peshawar Zalmi would once again post a total over 200, but they bowled fabulously in the last four overs, giving away only 33 runs.
