Scotland Women vs Pakistan Women Commentary

12:58 PM IST Kathryn led the way - After being asked to bat first, Scotland found life difficult early on a sticky wicket, but they grew in confidence as the innings progressed. Darcey Carter played her part, but it was Kathryn Bryce who stole the show. Dropped on 6, the Scottish skipper made Pakistan pay dearly with a 43-ball 94. With the ball, Pakistan were impressive in patches, but it all unravelled towards the back end of the innings. Fielding lapses began to creep in, and Scotland capitalised on those opportunities to finish strongly.
12:58 PM IST A chase that never took off -  In pursuit of a daunting total, Pakistan could never really get going with the bat. The intent was certainly there, but the loss of three wickets inside the Powerplay made an already difficult chase even tougher. Scotland continued to hold their own outside the Powerplay and never allowed Pakistan any breathing room. A lot rested on Fatima Sana's shoulders to pull her side back into the contest, but the rain denied the skipper any opportunity to mount a serious challenge.
12:55 PM IST More action to come - That's the warm-up games done and dusted for these two sides, and the attention now shifts to the main event. Scotland open their campaign in Manchester on Saturday, 13 June, against Ireland, while Pakistan face arch-rivals India in Birmingham on Sunday, 14 June. We are not done for the day yet here in Derby, though. Up next at 2 pm GMT, the Netherlands square off against Sri Lanka. Let's hope the weather clears up by then. It's goodbye for now.
12:46 PM IST That's that for the game - The weather has had the final say, with no further play possible. Scotland win this contest by 41 runs on the DLS method and make it two wins from two in their warm-up fixtures. That will give Kathryn Bryce and her side plenty of belief and confidence heading into the main event. As for Pakistan, they have now lost both their warm-up games. More than anything, the Asian side will need to sharpen up in the field if they are to compete against the stronger teams in the competition.
12:33 PM IST 12.30 pm GMT - Right on cue, the rain has arrived. There is a strong wind as well, and the ground staff are having to battle the elements as they rush to bring the covers on and protect the run-up areas. The chances of us having any more play in this fixture appear rather slim at the moment, but let's hope for the best.
12:29 PM IST Game stopped due to : Rain Stoppage
