AAP’s Sanjay Singh demands probe in attack on Arvind Kejriwal

AAP leader and Rajya Sabha MP, Sanjay Singh, Monday requested the Delhi Police commissioner, Amulya Patnaik, to conduct a thorough probe into the recent attack on chief minister Arvind Kejriwal during a roadshow in New Delhi parliamentary constituency.
“I met the Delhi Police commissioner and submitted a letter explaining in detail the conspiracy that we feel is being hatched against the CM. Nine attacks indicate a bigger attack on him is impending. We have sought a detailed inquiry,” Singh said.
During a roadshow in Moti Nagar Saturday, Kejriwal was slapped by a man when he was standing on an open jeep.
“All opposition parties condemned the attack but Rahul Gandhi was silent. It means BJP and Congress are involved in the conspiracy,” he said.
Delhi Police, meanwhile, said the probe revealed the accused, Suresh (33), is a scrap dealer and AAP supporter. “While being questioned, the accused said he got disenchanted with AAP due to the behaviour of its leaders and that he was angered due to the party’s distrust in the armed forces,” a police officer said.
Singh, in his letter to Patnaik, said the CM was not disrespectful towards armed forces so the reasons do not make sense.
