Delhi metro to distribute saplings at stations in ‘adopt a tree’ drive
Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) spokes person said that the DMRC has set a target to plant 20,000 saplings during the monsoon between July and September.
The Delhi metro will distribute around 8,000 saplings of native plants at around 20 stations as a part of their ‘adopt a tree’ campaign between August and September, officials said.

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) on Tuesday said the campaign, in partnership with Worldwide Fund for Nature (WWF), will start from August 1. The saplings will be distributed free of cost at select metro stations between 4pm and 7.30pm on Thursdays and Fridays.
“A similar distribution campaign was carried out last year as well. DMRC also carries out plantation drives from time to time as a part of its ‘Swachh Chetna-DMRC Eco Club’ initiative,” said a DMRC spokesperson.
The spokesperson said the DMRC has also set a target to plant 20,000 saplings during the monsoon between July and September at its maintenance depots, staff quarters, stations and under the viaducts.
The stations where these saplings will be available are: Huda City Centre, MG Road, Chhattarpur, Saket, Green Park, Hauz Khas, Dilshad Garden, Laxmi Nagar, Jamia Millia Islamia and Dwarka Mor.
The saplings will also be available at Vaishali, Kalkaji Mandir, Botanical Garden, Vasant Vihar, GTB Nagar, Jangpura, Nehru Place, Rajouri Garden, Netaji Subhash Place and RK Puram.
