But despite being served a notice, Essel Group chairman Subhash Chandra and managing director of Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd Punit Goenka are yet to join the probe.

The arrested duo — Zee News editor Sudhir Chaudhary and Zee Business editor Samir Ahluwalia — were sent to Tihar Jail till December 14.

The duo were allegedly trying to extort R100 crore from Congress MP Naveen Jindal's group in exchange for not running reports on the firm's alleged role in the coal scam.

On Friday, a fresh bail application was filed on their behalf. The bail plea will be heard in court on Saturday. The first bail plea had been rejected on Wednesday.
